Accountant

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic trainee to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of financial activities while working towards a professional accounting qualification. You'll receive support and development as you build your knowledge, develop your skills and progress your finance career.

This vacancy will be filled on a trainee or development basis and we are looking for someone to demonstrate the capability and commitment to develop.

A tailored development programme will be provided, including on-the-job training, mentoring and professional support. The postholder will progress through defined development milestones, with advancement to the fully qualified Accountant position subject to satisfactory completion of the agreed development programme.

What will you be doing?

You'll support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial information that helps the business make informed decisions. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of accounting activities while developing your technical knowledge and understanding of financial processes.

• Assisting with financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations and reconciliations.
• Supporting cash management activities and maintaining financial controls.
• Building relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing finance support where required.
• Helping to identify opportunities to improve finance processes and systems.
• Learning and developing through on-the-job training and professional study support.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, has strong attention to detail and enjoys working with numbers. You don't need extensive finance experience, but you'll have a genuine interest in developing a career in accounting and finance.

• Studying towards, or willing to study towards, a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent).
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

A positive mindset and an interest in improving processes and ways of working.
