What you will be doing

You will oversee the delivery of high quality administrative services, ensuring all work is completed to the required standard and in full compliance with licence conditions.  You’ll take responsibility for managing a dedicated administration team, supporting the programme business plan, and maintaining secure, accurate and well coordinated processes that underpin programme operations and regulatory commitments.  

You’ll also work closely with Programme Managers and wider Dounreay directorates to plan visits, coordinate management meetings, and ensure action logs, decision registers, reporting outputs, and operational documentation are consistently maintained to a high standard.  Through your proactive approach and attention to detail, you’ll drive effective communication, seamless coordination, and a reliable administrative framework that supports both day to day activity and long term programme objectives.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead and allocate workload across the Administration team, ensuring timely, high quality completion of tasks and maintaining full compliance with programme and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate documentation processes, including inductions, training reviews, operational records, and the secure handling of all programme data.
  • Plan and support programme activities such as visits, management meetings, reporting, and cross team collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the creation, review, and maintenance of team working instructions, programme forms, and accurate logs that support effective programme operations.

What you will bring

You’ll be an organised, proactive, and confident communicator with a strong track record of delivering high quality administrative support.  Comfortable managing deadlines and leading a team, you’ll bring the initiative, focus and professionalism needed to keep a busy programme running efficiently and in full compliance with internal and external requirements.

  • An HNC in science, business, engineering, or equivalent experience, paired with comprehensive administration experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and produce accurate, high quality work.
  • Post specific capability analysis assessment
