4 Year Graduate Apprenticeship Programme
The Role
The apprenticeship is a comprehensive training programme lasting up to four years. During this period, you will undertake training and work experience at Dounreay within our various project teams as well as spend some time in the design office, assisting with both our new build and decommissioning projects to develop the skills necessary for the modern professional Civil Engineer. You will attend UHI Inverness on block release to meet the academic requirements of the programme
The Training
Over the 4 years you will -
- Work full time at the Dounreay site working alongside project teams (hybrid may be available in final 2 years), on 6 month rotations
- Attend UHI Inverness on block release for academic studies
- In year 1, attend Outward Bound Course
The Final Qualifications
- BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
- Certificate of Apprenticeship
Requirements:
- Have achieved (or expect to achieve) a minimum of 3 Highers (BBC) including Maths and one other STEM Subject, or equivalent
- Have good communication, team working and problem solving skills
- Able to demonstrate an interest in Engineering
- Able to commute to the Dounreay site (local bus service is available) and attend college at UHI Inverness

NRS attracts an excellent Benefits package:
- Standard full time working week with every third Friday off (unless subject to shift work). This working pattern equates to approximately 17 days additional holidays per year
