As a Craft Technician, you will join a skilled and dedicated team responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of critical plant and equipment. Your contribution will directly support the safe delivery of site operations and decommissioning activities, helping to ensure the continued success of Dounreay's mission.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and defect rectification activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant and equipment.
  • Investigate equipment and system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective maintenance solutions while supporting operational and programme objectives.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports, maintenance records, condition assessments, and recommendations to support asset management and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to improving maintenance performance through the review of procedures, identification of equipment issues and obsolescence risks, and the implementation of practical solutions.

What You'll Bring

  • Instrument Apprenticeship & HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualifications plus relevant experience.
  • Relevant maintenance experience in a mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, or multi-disciplined engineering environment.
  • Strong technical diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to analyse issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • A thorough understanding of health, safety, and quality requirements, with a consistent commitment to safe systems of work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders, and support the development of others.
