Based within the established D1204 team, you’ll join a dynamic environment where your engineering expertise will directly support complex, high-hazard removal projects and critical facility operations.
 

A trainee would be considered for this role with a salary range of £38,354 - £46,267, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
This is a unique chance to act as an engineering “intelligent customer,” influencing key decisions, ensuring compliance, and driving technical excellence. You’ll work at the forefront of plant modification, asset management, and regulatory engagement, making a tangible impact on safety, performance, and project delivery.
 
You’ll take ownership of delivering essential engineering elements across the facility, providing oversight, direction, and assurance across a range of projects and plant activities. From supporting the licence condition substantiation process to leading on crane compliance and asset management, you will ensure all engineering outputs meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Your role will see you collaborating with stakeholders, managing technical specifications, and guiding projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Design, evaluate and deliver the technical governance of projects, write technical specifications, and control, develop and monitor plans and procedures
  • Oversee asset management planning, reviews, and maintenance assurance on behalf of the authority to operate (ATO) Holder
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative standards while liaising with regulators and stakeholders

What you'll bring:

You’ll bring strong collaboration and communication skills, confidence in decision-making, and a commitment to ownership and integrity. Whether fully qualified or working towards advanced qualifications, you’ll thrive in a team that values technical excellence and continuous improvement.

  • HND/HNC (or working towards degree) in Engineering, aligned with Engineering Council standards, with relevant mechanical experience
  • Proven ability to support delivery of engineering or decommissioning projects to time, cost, and quality expectations
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrated behaviours of resilience, accountability, teamwork, and sound decision-making in challenging environments
  • Post specific physical capability analysis assessment
