Job Description
A vacancy has arisen within fuel cycle area (FCA) programme for a Safety Case Writer to support the ongoing decommissioning programme. As a Safety Case Writer you will be responsible for producing proportionate, fit for purpose nuclear safety cases, in accordance with organisational procedures.

This opportunity represents a chance to join a growing team providing safety case advice in support of some of the most challenging projects on-site. The role would suit an individual with experience in safety case production, and interest in supporting a broad portfolio of facilities and projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inform and advise on the production of nuclear safety cases
- Engage with stakeholders
- Apply hazard identification techniques
- Develop clear and concise arguments and technical content to form a ‘fit for purpose’ safety case
- Produce and verify evidence in support of nuclear safety cases
- Produce nuclear safety risk assessments
- Identify engineering and administrative controls
- Support due process requirements
- Assist in establishing the scope of and strategy for the production of nuclear safety cases
- Assist in planning and co-ordinating the preparation of nuclear safety cases
- Produce fit for purpose safety cases in accordance with organisational procedures, to time and budget
Aptitudes and experience:
- Qualified to degree level in an appropriate discipline or equivalent qualification plus experience
- Demonstrable experience in safety case production, hazard and risk assessment, and plant and industrial
- Have the knowledge, skills and experience required to prepare and develop safety cases
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documentation
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Post specific capability analysis assessment
