Dounreay is looking for a diverse selection of people to support their aim to successfully decommission the Dounreay site.  Nuclear decommissioning needs forward thinking, intelligent and innovative solutions from up and coming, motivated, interested students of STEM, built environment and business subjects.  

Start your journey with a vacation placement on site in a project, operational or support area, gaining knowledge and experience of how the industry works, while contributing to your future development.

At Dounreay we have a small number of vacation student placements for summer 2025.  These placements are designed to offer candidates the opportunity to gain frontline practical experience and develop the skills necessary for careers in engineering, science and business.  Your undergraduate studies must fall into one of these categories.  The roles will typically include delivery of small packages of work under the supervision of an experienced member of staff alongside training and development opportunities.

Placement duration: 2 June - 22 August 2025
